A new Easter dress is a harbinger of Spring that is a welcome change even if the cold of winter hasn't entirely gone. This lightweight spring scarf can chase away the winter blues too!

Materials: Small amount of Filati FF Park or most of one ball of Filati FF Must (or small amount of thick eyelash yarn and about 75 yards of thin ribbon yarn)

Needles: 1 pair #11 (or whatever size gives you fabric that you like)

Gauge: Not especially important in this case; just make sure you like the fabric that is coming off of your needles and adjust needle size if necessary.

Directions: Using one strand of each yarn held together, CO 3 stitches.

Row 1: Knit

Row 2: Knit, increasing 2 stitches by knitting into the front and back of both the first and last stitch in this row.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 until there are 11 stitches on the needle.

Knit two more rows even.

Cut the eyelash yarn, leaving a tail to weave in later. Continue knitting in *garter stitch with ribbon yarn alone, until ribbon portion of scarf measures 40" long.

*Optional: If you wish, you may add decorative effect to the ribbon portion of the scarf by adding occasional dropped stitch rows as such:

Row 1: *K1, yo* repeat across

Row 2: K, dropping yo's as you come to them

Row 3 and subsequent rows: K, until you are ready to repeat this pattern.

When the ribbon portion of your scarf measures 40" long, reintroduce the thick eyelash yarn and continue with ribbon and eyelash yarns held together.

K 3 rows

Begin decreasing:
Row 1: SSK, K 9, K 2 tog

Row 2: K

Row 3: SSK, K 7, K 2 tog

Row 4: K

Continue decreasing 2 stitches every other row in this manner until 3 stitches remain.

BO all stitches and weave in ends with a tapestry needle.
